Lewis University junior catcher Anthony Rios and Quincy University graduate pitcher Nick Stroud have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in the sport of baseball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

  • Went 12-for-21 (.571) at the plate with one home run, six doubles, nine runs batted in and 11 runs scored
  • Posted a slugging percentage of 1.000 on the week with 21 total bases, while posting four multi-hit efforts
  • Finished the Rockhurst series with a 2-for-3 effort, including a double, RBI and three runs scored
  • Recorded career highs in hits and RBIs with a 4-for-4 effort, including two doubles, five RBI and four runs scored
  • Went 6-for-14 in William Jewell series, posting one home run, three doubles, three RBI and four runs scored
  • Threw out four of five base would be stealers
  • Earns his first career Player of the Week award
