Northern Kentucky University’s Jack Ambrose (Lexington, Ky.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week.
Ambrose, a senior outfielder for the defending GLVC champion Norse, helped his club find the win column over the weekend and take three of four from Quincy in a non-conference series.
He hit .462, drove in four runs and scored four times in the four contests over the weekend.
In NKU’s 3-2 win over Quincy on Saturday, Ambrose was 2-for-3 with a run scored. He was 1-for-3 with an RBI in the 3-2 extra-inning win in the nightcap.
On Sunday, Ambrose was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored in NKU’s 14-4 win and added a 1-for-4 effort with two runs scored in the team’s 9-6 loss on Sunday afternoon.
For the year, Ambrose is hitting .333 with six runs and 5 RBIs.
Northern Kentucky improved to 3-4 overall with the three wins and will travel to West Georgia for a four-game series this weekend.
Other top performers in GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Braxton Graven, Quincy’s Mike Hallam, Rockhurst’s Steve Braun and Southern Indiana’s Alex Thieroff.
