William Jewell College sophomore sprinter Tyrell Jeffries and Missouri S&T freshman thrower Nathan Swadley have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the Conference office Wednesday.

• Registered 16.49 meters in the shot put, which placed him fifth overall and provisionally qualified him for the NCAA Championships
• Heave also tied the school record set by Chris Carsten nearly 12 years ago
• Also met the provisional qualifying standard in the discus with a third-place toss of 50.09 meters
• Currently ranks second in the GLVC in the discus and third in the shot put
• First career GLVC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honor
