University of Missouri-St. Louis’ Allyson DeFosset (O’Fallon, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

 

DeFosset, a senior pitcher for the Tritons, helped her team to a 6-0 record last week. She was 3-0 with one save in four outings and posted a miniscule 0.34 ERA while striking out 33 batters.

 

In UMSL’s 5-3 win at Lincoln on Wednesday, DeFosset threw five and one-third shutout innings and did not allow a hit to earn the victory. She struck out 10 batters and allowed just three walks in the win.

 

She returned on Thursday to strikeout 13 batters in UMSL’s 2-0 win over Truman State. DeFosset went all seven innings in the win and surrendered just four hits and no walks.

 

On Sunday, DeFosset earned a save in the Tritons’ 6-4 win over UW-Parkside by striking out the side in the seventh inning.

 

She then returned to throw a complete-game in UMSL’s 2-1 win over Emporia State. DeFosset struck out seven and allowed just one earned run, a solo home run.

 

On the season, DeFosset is 4-3 with a 0.84 ERA. She has struck out 76 batters in 58 innings of work and also has one save.

 

UMSL (9-9) snapped a six-game losing streak with the six-game run last week and will face Lindenwood on Tuesday.

 

Other top performers in GLVC last week included Drury’s Laura McCarthy, Lewis’ Courtney Lyons, Northern Kentucky’s Ashley Gates and Southern Indiana’s Dawn McClellan.
