Missouri S&T junior quarterback Brennan Simms and sophomore linebacker Stefan Camplin, as well as Truman State University sophomore punt returner Spencer Newell, have earned Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.

  • Recorded the third special teams touchdown for the Bulldogs in three weeks
  • Ran back a 71-yard punt return in the second quarter to put Truman up 17-0
  • First punt return (non-blocked) touchdown for the Bulldgos since 2009
  • Second longest punt return for the program since 1979
  • Totaled 92 yards on five punt returns – an average of 18.4 yards per return
  • Bulldogs totaled 214 yards over nine kick and punt returns to average 23 yards per return
  • Earns his first career Special Teams Player of the Week award
  • Becomes third straight Truman specialist to earn league award
