INDIANAPOLIS – Southwest Baptist University sophomore Elysia Burgos has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Runner of the Week in women’s cross country, respectively, it was announced by the Conference office on Tuesday.
In addition, Burgos was recognized late Monday by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as the NCAA Division II National Runner of the Week.

- Placed second overall in field of 291 runners, finishing with a 5,000-meter time of 17 minutes, 25 seconds
- Improved on her personal best by 48 seconds and was more than two minutes faster than her time at last year’s MSSU Stampede
- First USTFCCCA National Runner of the Week in school history
- Earns second career GLVC Runner of the Week award (9/11/19)
