INDIANAPOLIS – Drury University junior Kyla Owens has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Athlete of the Week in women’s bowling, it was announced by the Conference office on Thursday.

Team Result:  11th/26, Newman Mid-States Invitational

• Finished 13th out of a strong field of more than 200 bowlers
• Rolled a 191 average over six rounds, including a 199 average over final five games
• Recorded a first-ball average of 9.21 and filled 91 percent of her frames in Baker competition
• Provided several key doubles in the 10th frame
• Earns program’s first-ever Athlete of the Week honor
