University of Illinois Springfield junior guard Keymonta Johnson has been named the season’s first Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in men’s basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

• Shot 52.4 percent from the field on 11-of-21 shooting
• Posted double-doubles in both contests
• Recorded 19 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 assists and 2 steals against Ohio Valley
• Returned to put up 12 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals against UW-Parkside
• Boasted 10 points in second half versus Parkside to help UIS break a halftime tie
• Helped UIS to its first 2-0 start since 2014-15
• Earns first career Player of the Week award
