INDIANAPOLIS – Rockhurst University’s Nick Troilo (Wichita, Kan.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week.

  

Troilo, a senior leftfielder for the Hawks, helped Rockhurst collect a doubleheader sweep at Drury on Sunday evening.

 

In the first game of the day, a 20-4 win by the Hawks, Troilo went 3-for-5 and belted three home runs. Included in the three blasts were two grand slams. He finished the game with a school-record 10 RBIs and three runs scored.

 

He followed that effort with a 1-for-3 showing in the nightcap. Troilo scored twice in the contest, lifting the Hawks to a 4-1 win.

 

In the two games on Sunday, Troilo was 4-for-8 (.500) with 10 RBIs and five runs scored. He posted a 1.625 slugging percentage on the day.

 

Troilo is batting .341 on the year with 22 RBIs, 26 runs, four home runs and 10 stolen bases.

 

Rockhurst (19-9) will complete the four-game series at Drury today and will also host Southwest Baptist and Missouri-St. Louis this week. The Hawks are tied for second in the GLVC West Division at 4-2.

 

Other top performers in GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Adam Chester, Indianapolis’ Adam Akin, Missouri S&T’s Brandon Cogan, Saint Joseph’s Sean Estand and Southern Indiana’s Chad Bruce.
