University of Indianapolis junior distance specialist Lauren Bailey and Southwest Baptist University junior pentathlete Meleah Ridenour have been named the season’s first Great Lakes Valley Conference Athletes of the Week in women’s indoor track and field, it was announced by the league office Wednesday.

Major: Psychology
Team Result: No Team Scoring, Pittsburg State’s Crimson and Gold Invitational
- Placed second in the pentathlon with a score of 3,745 points, just 75 markers shy of the NCAA automatic qualifying standard
- Total currently ranks first in the GLVC and third in NCAA Division II
- Also won the high jump (1.71m, 5’ 7 ¼”) and placed second in the triple jump (12.03m, 39’ 5 ¾”)
- High jump mark is currently fourth and triple jump distance is fifth nationally
- Earns program’s first Indoor Athlete of the Week honor
