University of Illinois Springfield junior third baseman Zion Pettigrew and Bellarmine University junior pitcher Brandon Pfaadt have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in the sport of baseball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

• Posted multi-hit efforts in all four games, while batting 8-for-16 (.500) on the week
• Recorded seven runs and seven runs batted in
• Compiled a slugging percentage of .875 and a .579 on-base percentage
• Opened weekend with 2-for-5 effort against West Virginia State, with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored
• Responded in the second game of the day with 2-for-3 effort with a home run, four RBI and three runs scored against Saginaw Valley State
• Returned Sunday to go 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored against West Virginia State
• Closed series 2-for-4 with a run scored in setback to SVSU
• Earns his first career Player of the Week award
