University of Wisconsin Parkside’s Jessica Monson is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Monson, a senior for the Rangers, ran a 16:40.10 for 5000m at the Raleigh Relays. She broke the UWP School Record (17:07.03 Wendy Burman 1981) and the Indoor Record (16:47.24 by Paula Stokman 1992). Monson also earned a bid to the 2009 NCAA National Championship.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Katie Hickey and Missouri S&T’s Aubrey Moore.
