Lewis University’s Kelly Dianis (Hinsdale, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week.
Dianis, a senior shortstop for the Flyers, helped Lewis to a 6-0 record last weekend, including a series sweep over Quincy in a key GLVC matchup.
In the six games, Dianis hit .529 (9-17) with nine runs, four RBIs, two home runs and an .882 slugging percentage.
In Lewis’ sweep of Robert Morris on Wednesday, Dianis was 3-for-5 with four runs, an RBI and home run.
She returned on Thursday to go 4-for-7 with four runs, a home runs and two RBIs, helping Lewis to a sweep of Judson. The home run was the 27th of Dianis’ career, setting a new school mark.
In Lewis’ doubleheader sweep of visiting Quincy on Sunday, Dianis posted the lone hit and game-winning RBI in the first game, a 1-0 Flyers’ victory. She completed the series with a 1-for-2 performance with a run scored in Lewis’ 2-0 win.
On the year, Dianis is hitting .310 with 21 runs, 12 RBIs, four home runs and four doubles. She currently boasts an eight-game hitting streak.
Lewis (35-16) finished fifth in the GLVC standings and will face Saint Joseph’s in the first round of the GLVC Tournament on Friday.
