Missouri S&T’s Jen O’Hara (Chardon, Ohio) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
O’Hara, a senior pitcher for the Miners, posted back-to-back complete games on Sunday to help Missouri S&T secure the final spot in the upcoming GLVC Softball Tournament.
On the week O’Hara went 4-1, including four complete-game shutouts, and did not allow an earned run. She logged 38 and one-third innings in seven appearances and also picked up a save, her second of the season.
She opened the week with a three-hit shutout over Quincy, a 1-0 Missouri S&T victory. In the seven-innings, she struck out three and surrendered just one walk.
After posting a save in Wednesday’s 4-1 win over Southwest Baptist, O’Hara struck out seven in the Miners’ 2-0 win over Drury on Saturday.
O’Hara closed the weekend by posting back-to-back shutouts over Rockhurst. In the first game, a 4-0 Miners’ win, O’Hara allowed three hits and struck out five. She allowed just three-hits in the nightcap and struck out two in Missouri S&T’s’ 2-0 victory.
This season, O’Hara is 12-16 with a 2.34 ERA. She has recorded six shutouts in 33 outings and has struck out 121 batters.
Missouri S&T (21-26) finished eighth in the GLVC regular season standings with a 10-12 GLVC mark. The Miners have won seven of their last ten games and will play Missouri-St. Louis in the first round of the GLVC Tournament on Friday.
