Northern Kentucky University’s Evan McDole (Alexandria, Ky.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.

 

McDole, a junior first baseman for the Norse, guided his club to a 6-0 record last week, including a four-game sweep over Kentucky Wesleyan this past weekend.

 

In the six contests, McDole was 12-for-21 (.571) with 14 RBIs, 11 runs, four home runs, four doubles and a .667 slugging percentage.

 

In Northern Kentucky’s sweep over Urbana on Thursday, McDole was 4-for-7 with seven RBIs, four runs, two doubles and two home runs.

 

He returned on Saturday to go 4-for-5 with three RBIs, three runs and a home run in the series opener with Kentucky Wesleyan, a 17-12 Norse victory.  

 

McDole shined in each of the remaining three games of the series and finished the weekend batting .571 (.814) with seven runs, seven RBIs, two home runs and two runs scored.

 

This season, McDole is batting .371 with 50 RBIs, 47 runs, 15 home runs, 17 doubles and a .743 slugging percentage.

 

Northern Kentucky (34-18) is tied for first in the GLVC East Division with an 18-6 divisional record. The Norse have secured a berth to the GLVC Baseball Tournament and will conclude the regular season with games versus Missouri S&T this weekend.
