Setter Cheneta Morrison, a junior at the University of Indianapolis, is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. Morrison averaged 9.4 assists, 1.87 digs and 1.53 kills per set in guiding the Greyhounds to four wins at the Ferris State Invitational in Big Rapids, Mich., over the weekend.

Morrison opened the season with 29 assists and six digs in UIndy’s 3-1 win over Saginaw Valley State on Saturday. She returned in the day’s second match to deliver 34 assists and five kills in the Greyhounds’ 3-0 sweep over host Ferris State.
 
The former right-side hitter posted a pair of double-doubles on Sunday. In UIndy’s 3-1 win over Minnesota-Crookston, Morrison tallied 31 assists, 13 kills, eight digs and three blocks. She finished the weekend with 47 assists, 10 digs, four assists and two blocks in a 3-1 win over Northwood.
 
Morrison was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts. On the week, she recorded 23 kills, 141 assists, 28 digs and seven blocks. In addition, Morrison posted a .265 hitting percentage and also added three service aces.
 
UIndy (4-0) will return to action on Tuesday at Indiana Wesleyan before heading to the North Alabama Tournament for four matches this weekend.
 
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included: Lewis’ Stephanie Sagat, Missouri-St. Louis’ Liz Cook, Missouri S&T’s Julie Meyer, Northern Kentucky’s Kim Nemcek, Quincy’s Christine Williams, Rockhurst’s Emily Levy, Southern Indiana’s Brittani Oliver and UW-Parkside’s Tami Gleason.
