INDIANAPOLIS– Rockhurst University’s Emily Levy was named the GLVC Volleyball Player of the Week. The junior middle hitter helped her team to three wins over the weekend at the Rockhurst Classic.

On Friday in the Hawks opening match against Eastern New Mexico, Levy recorded six kills and four blocks to help earn the win for Rockhurst. She continued the day with 13 kills, seven blocks and three digs in the 1-3 loss to Wayne State.

Levy came back Saturday to help the Hawk’s finish off the weekend on a good note. She led her team to two more wins against Upper Iowa and Midwestern State where she totaled 22 kills and seven blocks on the day. She posted a .667 hitting percentage against Upper Iowa and .571 hitting average against Midwestern State.
 
On the weekend, Levy posted a .462 hitting percentage with 41 kills and 18 blocks in 14 sets. She also leads the GLVC in hitting percentage (.383) averaging 2.60 kills per set.
 
On the season, the Hawks are 5-7. They host their first conference match this Wednesday against Drury.
 
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Maryville’s Kelsey Bock, Missouri-St. Louis’ Carolyn Holstein, Lewis’ Sara DeBuhr, Indianapolis’ Lyndsay Callahan, UW-Parkside’s Tami Gleason, and Drury’s Kyrie Hopkins.
