INDIANAPOLIS – University of Southern Indiana’s Mary Ballinger is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season. She paced the Screaming Eagles to a second-place finish in the Southern Indiana Pre-National Invitational on Saturday.

Ballinger finished in second place in the 6K race, just 20 seconds behind Ferris State’s Tin Muir, the winner of the race. She ran the course in a time of 22:09, the best 6K time in the conference this season.

Other USI runners that helped earn the second-place finish were Jackie Henderson and Adrienne Curtis. Both finished in the top 10, with a time of 23:09. The Screaming Eagles are currently ranked 11th in the USTFCCCA poll and 2nd in the Midwest Regional poll.
