University of Indianapolis’ Shae Morris, a sophomore from Greenwood, Ind., is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. The Greyhounds’ goalkeeper recorded a pair of shutouts in league play to earn the weekly honor.

In UIndy’s 1-0 win at UW-Parkside on Friday, Morris posted four saves. The effort helped the Greyhounds notch the program’s first win over the Rangers since 1999 and handed UW-Parkside its first home loss since 2006.

Morris returned on Saturday to turn away five shots on goal in the Greyhounds’ 1-0 win at Lewis. The five saves helped Morris secure her third consecutive shutout.

On the week, Morris was 2-0-0 in goal with nine saves. She has 47 saves on the season and boasts a save percentage of .855, good for third in the league. Morris is tied for the league lead with seven shutouts this year.

The 15th-ranked Greyhounds (10-2-0) are 7-1 in league play and have won three straight matches. They will host Illinois-Springfield and Quincy this weekend.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Katie Pritchard, Maryville’s Laura Jendusa, Northern Kentucky’s Hannah Wissel, Quincy’s Toni Eye and Rockhurst’s Chelsey Schumacher.
