INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky’s Drew Harris has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Harris broke the school’s record in the 8K run on Saturday, running the Greater Louisville Classic in 24:34.
Harris paced his team, finishing 16th out of 334 runners overall in the event. The Norse finished 32nd in a pool of strong Division I and II programs.
To break the record, Harris beat a former NKU All-American, John Lotts, who set the record 30 years ago on the same weekend.
Northern Kentucky returns to action on October 10 when they compete in the GLVC-MIAA Challenge in Rolla, Missouri.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Southern Indiana’s Brendan Devine, Drury’s Derek Berry, Bellarmine’s Jordan Parayil and Saint Joseph’s Naza Sanchez.
