Northern Kentucky University’s Amanda Mason, is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. Mason, a sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio, helped her team to a pair of wins over the weekend, extending the Norse winning streak to eight games.
 
On the weekend, Mason contributed to both game-winning goals. On Friday against Drury, she tallied her sixth goal of the season as the Norse claimed a 1-0 win against the Panthers.
 
On Sunday, in a 3-1 win at Missouri S&T, Mason assisted on Emily Martin’s game-winning goal in the 54th minute of play.
 
Mason is second on the team with six goals, eight assists, and 20 points on the season. She leads the club with five game-winning goals.
 
Northern Kentucky (13-2) currently sits in first-place in the league standings with a 10-2 record. The Norse, ranked 15th in the NCAA Division II national poll, will next host Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis this weekend.
 
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Amanda Moore, Drury’s Sarah Goodman, Indianapolis’ Ashley Seehase, Rockhurst’s Amy Lindley, Southern Indiana’s Jessica Gates and UW-Parkside’s Cassie Glodowski.
