Rockhurst University’s Emily Levy, a junior from Florissant, Mo., is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.  Levy, a middle hitter for the Hawks, helped her team to three straight wins.
 
In a non-conference match against Missouri Southern on Tuesday, Levy recorded 12 kills and eight blocks in the 3-2 win over the Lions. She finished the match with a .458 hitting percentage and also added an assist in the victory.
 
Levy returned on Friday, in Rockhurst’s 3-0 win over Quincy, to register six kills, five blocks, a.500 hitting percentage and an assist.
 
She completed the week with 11 kills and four blocks against Illinois-Springfield on Saturday. In the 3-0 win against the Prairie Stars, she posted a .562 hitting percentage, raising her overall hitting percentage to .339, third-best in the GLVC. She also ranks second in blocks in the GLVC averaging 1.13 blocks per set.
 
On the week, Levy recorded a total of 29 kills, 17 blocks and posted a .500 hitting percentage.
 
The Hawks are 7-3 in GLVC play and 17-11 overall and will return to action on Tuesday in a non-conference  match-up against Fort Hays State and then travel to Saint Joseph’s and Indianapolis for conference play this weekend.
 
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Kyrie Hopkins, Indianapolis’ Hannah Kelzer, Lewis’ Sara deBuhr, Missouri-St. Louis’ Wesley Gaff and Southern Indiana’s Danielle LaGrange.
