University of Missouri-St. Louis’ Weslie Gaff (Streator, Ill./Streator) is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. Gaff, a sophomore middle hitter, led the Tritons to a pair of victories over the weekend, helping UMSL secure the No. 3 seed for the upcoming GLVC Tournament.
 
In the Tritons’ 3-0 victory over visiting Bellarmine on Friday, Gaff posted six kills and eight blocks, including two solo blocks, in just two sets. She finished the match with a .479 hitting percentage and registered 12 points in the win.
 
She returned in a key league match against visiting Northern Kentucky on Saturday to record 15 kills and three blocks. In UMSL’s 3-1 win, Gaff hit .379 and posted three blocks and 16.5 points.
 
For the week, Gaff averaged 4.75 points, 3.50 kills and 1.83 blocks per set. She also hit .400 in the two matches.
 
Gaff leads the Tritons with a .340 hitting percentage and 1.09 blocks per set this season. She is third on the team in kills (2.43 per set) and ranks third in the GLVC in both blocks and hitting percentage.
 
UMSL (21-10) finished the conference season with an 11-3 record, good for third place in the league standings. The Tritons will meet Southern Indiana in the quarterfinal round of the GLVC Tournament hosted by Lewis on Nov. 13-15.
 
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Kyrie Hopkins, Indianapolis’ Kristina Kerrigan, Lewis’ Sara deBuhr, Rockhurst’s Emily Levy and Southern Indiana’s Courtney Bealor.
