Rockhurst University senior guard Aaron Hill (Canton, Mo./Canton) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Hill helped the Hawks to a pair of wins last week and averaged 29.0 points per game in three contests.
In Rockhurst’s loss at Drury on Monday, Hill posted 23 points, six rebounds and an assist. He shot 41.2 percent from the field (7-17) and hit 6-of-13 (.462) field goal attempts.
Hill led the Hawks to a 70-68 win over Bellarmine on Thursday by pouring in a career-high 41 points. He knocked down 9-of-15 three-point attempts (.600) and finished 13-of-21 from the field (.619). Hill also grabbed six rebounds and had four assists in the victory.
In Rockhurst’s 70-64 win over Northern Kentucky on Saturday, Hill capped his week by securing a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. He also added five assists and was 12-of-13 from the free throw line (.923).
On the week, Hill averaged 29.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists per game. He shot 47.1 percent from the field (24-51), 52.9 percent from the three-point line (18-34) and 91.3 percent from the free throw line (21-23).
Hill is currently ranked third in the GLVC in scoring per game this season (21.4), third in three-point field goals made per game (3.93), third in free throw percentage (88.8) and eighth in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.38).
Rockhurst (10-5) is 5-1 in the GLVC this season and currently in first place in the GLVC West Division. The Hawks have won five of their last six contests and will visit Lewis and host Maryville this weekend.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Alex Hall, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Desmond Stephens, Missouri-St. Louis’ Jeremy Brown, Quincy’s Justin Brock and Southern Indiana’s Tyrone Bradshaw.
