Bellarmine University junior guard Jeremy Kendle (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville/Olney Central) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Kendle helped the Knights to a pair of victories last week against league foes.
 
In Bellarmine’s 78-67 win over Indianapolis on Thursday, Kendle posted 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and a blocked shot. He was 5-for-13 (.385) from the field and 1-for-3 from behind the three-point line in the victory.
 
Kendle returned in Bellarmine’s 95-81 win over Saint Joseph’s on Saturday to record a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. He was 10-for-19 (.469) from the field in the win over the Pumas and also added five assists.
 
On the week, Kendle averaged 18.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game and shot 46.9 percent from the field.
 
Kendle is averaging a team-best 17.0 points per game this season for the Knights. In addition, he is adding 5.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest while shooting 50.2 percent from the field.
 
The Knights (11-6) moved to 4-4 in the GLVC with the victories and have won six of their past eight games. Bellarmine will next host Missouri-St. Louis tonight and visit Northern Kentucky for a nationally-televised contest on Saturday.
 
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Indianapolis’ Nate Blank, Lewis’ Justin Jarosz, Quincy’s Billy Baptist, Rockhurst’s Aaron Hill and Southern Indiana’s Jamar Smith.
