Drury senior guard Lindsay Ballweg (Shawnee, Kan.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Ballweg averaged 27.0 points per game in leading the Panthers to three victories in league play.
 
In a 70-51 win over visiting Southern Indiana on Monday, Ballweg poured in a game-high 21 points and also pulled down eight rebounds. She was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line and also chipped in seven assists and four steals.
 
Ballweg returned on Thursday to lift Drury to a 95-71 win over Maryville. She scored a game-high 27 points in just 24 minutes of work and added five assists, four rebounds and two steals. Ballweg shot 69.2 percent from the field (9-13) and 66.7 percent from the three-point line (6-9).
 
She closed the week with a game-high 33 points in Drury’s 94-82 win over Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday. In the victory, Ballweg shot 55.6 percent from the field (10-18), hit 3-of-8 three-point attempts and converted 10-of-11 free throw shots. She also had four assists, four blocked shots and two rebounds.
 
On the week, Ballweg averaged 27.0 points, 5.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.7 blocked shots per game. She shot 52.1 percent from the field (25-48), 38.5 percent from the three-point line (10-26) and 95.5 percent from the free throw line (21-22).
 
Ballweg is ranked second in the GLVC in scoring (18.4) and three-point field goal percentage (48.6), first in three-point field goals made per game (3.17) and fourth in the league in free throw percentage (86.2). She is also adding 3.0 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game.
 
Drury (21-6) has secured the top spot in the GLVC West Division with a 13-3 league record. The Panthers will conclude the conference season with contests at Missouri S&T and Rockhurst this weekend.
 
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Indianapolis’ Jessica Canary, Maryville’s Angela Pepowski, Missouri S&T’s Julie Meyer, Quincy’s Stephanie Wagner, Rockhurst’s Kate Carr, Saint Joseph’s Brittney Cruse, Southern Indiana’s Amie Newhart and UW-Parkside’s Brittany Hogen.
