Saint Joseph’s College junior designated hitter Joe Dispensa (Chicago, Ill./Mesa C.C.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
 
Dispensa helped lead the Pumas to a pair of wins at 30th-ranked Tusculum over the weekend. In the Pumas’ 11-3 win in the series opener, Dispensa went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and a pair of walks. He also shined in Saint Joseph’s 11-6 win over Tusculum on Saturday finishing 4-for-5 with two runs, an RBI, a double and one walk.
 
In the Pumas’ two losses on Sunday, Dispensa combined to go 2-for-6 with two doubles, two runs, four RBIs and three walks.
 
He finished the weekend hitting .500 (7-14) with six runs, four RBIs, three doubles, six walks and a .714 slugging percentage.
 
Saint Joseph’s (2-2) travels to Oakland City for a pair of doubleheaders with the hosts and Saginaw Valley State.
 
Other top performers in GLVC last week included Indianapolis’ Adam Akin, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Mike Finigan, Missouri S&T’s Brandon Cogan, Saint Joseph’s Eric Meyerchick and Southern Indiana’s Dylan Mooney.
