Southern Indiana’s Mary Ballinger (Chesterton, Ind. /Chesterton) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Ballinger, a senior All-American, earned a NCAA Division II provisional mark in the 5,000-meter run at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet on Friday, posting a time of 17:02.56. She also helped the Screaming Eagles’ distance medley relay team finish seventh with a time of 12:23.42. She is currently ranked first in the GLVC in the mile, 3,000-meter run and 5,000-meter run.
