Lewis University sophomore pitcher Pat Lahey (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Lahey paced the Flyers to their second win of the season on Saturday by going nine innings in a 4-2 win over Findlay. He did not allow an earned run in the complete-game effort, with both of Findlay’s runs coming in the first inning following three Lewis errors.
Lahey scattered four hits and struck out five in the solid effort on the hill. He held Findlay to a .117 batting average for the contest and is the first Lewis baseball player to earn GLVC Player of the Week honors since 2006.
Lewis (4-5) has won four of its last five contests, all coming on the Flyers’ spring break trip to Winter Haven, Fla. They will complete the week with games versus Findlay, Maryville, Northwood and West Virginia Wesleyan.
Other top performers in GLVC last week included Drury’s Harrison Waters, Northern Kentucky’s Dave Middendorf and Southern Indiana’s Tyler Choate.
