Northern Kentucky University senior third baseman Jeff Bohlen (Chicago Heights, Ill./Marian Catholic) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
Bohlen guided a Norse lineup that posted 44 runs in a three-game sweep of host Christian Brothers over the weekend. In the three contests, Bohlen hit .667 with five RBIs, four runs and a home run.
In NKU’s 20-3 win over Christian Brothers in the series opener on Saturday, Bohlen was 3-for-4 with two runs, an RBI and home run. He capped the day with a 3-for-4 effort with three RBIs and a run scored in the nightcap, a 9-4 Norse win.
Bohlen finished the weekend by going 2-for-4 with a run and RBI in a 15-1 win on Sunday.
On the season, Bohlen is hitting .625 with nine RBIs, eight runs, three doubles and a home run.
NKU (4-2) will travel to Henderson State this weekend for a three-game series.
Other top performers in GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Patrick Brady, Lewis’ Miguel Amesquita, and Southern Indiana’s Justin Blinn.
