INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Lewis University’s Brandon Dagans (Harvey, Ill./Thornton) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The sophomore guard posted career-highs in each of the Flyers’ two wins last week.
In Lewis’ thrilling 83-80 overtime victory over visiting Drury University on Nov. 30, Dagans tallied a career-best 20 points on 7-of-18 shooting. He nailed 4-of-7 three-point field goals, a career-high, and also finished with five assists and three rebounds.
Dagans eclipsed his career-best with a game-high 32 points in Lewis’ 71-61 victory over visiting Rockhurst University on Dec. 2. He was 9-of-15 from the field and connected on 3-of-6 three-point field goal attempts. Dagans tied a GLVC record for free-throw percentage by knocking down all 11 attempts. He also recorded five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
For the week, Dagans averaged 26 points, four rebounds and four assists. He was 13-of-14 from the free throw line and shot 53.8 percent from behind the three-point arc.
He is averaging 15.5 points and 4.2 assists this season and has helped the Flyers improve their record to 5-1 overall. Lewis leads the GLVC East Division with a 2-0 mark.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Collins Harris, Missouri-Rolla’s Tyrone Davidson, Quincy’s Andre Muse, Rockhurst’s Kevin Martin and Southern Indiana’s Geoff Van Winkle.
