University of Southern Indiana junior Brittany DeWeese (Evansville, Ind./Memorial) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball  Player of the Week.
 
DeWeese paced the Eagles to four victories in GLVC play last weekend. She hit .667 (8-12) with five RBIs, three runs, four doubles and a home run.
 
In USI’s 8-7 win over Missouri S&T on Saturday, DeWeese was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs. She returned in the nightcap, a 5-4 win for the Eagles, to go 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and post the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh.
 
DeWeese was 3-for-5 in the Eagles’ sweep over Maryville on Sunday. She was 1-for-2 in the series opener and went 2-for-3 with a double, home run, two runs and a pair of RBIs in the nightcap.
 
On the season, DeWeese is hitting .393 with nine RBIs, five doubles and two home runs. She leads the Eagles in each category and has now hit safely in six straight games.
 
USI (4-6, 4-0 GLVC) will be competing at the Rebel Spring Games this week.
 
Other top performers in GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Jordan Basham, Drury’s Denise Taylor, Lewis’ Michelle Vucsko, Maryville’s Megan Ryder, Missouri-St. Louis’ Katie Bartlett and Northern Kentucky’s Rose Broderick.
