University of Wisconsin-Parkside senior Mike Pena (Racine, Wis.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
Pena paced the Rangers to three wins over the weekend, including a 7-2 victory in a non-conference contest at 26th-ranked Southern Indiana.
In four games, Pena hit .533 with three RBIs and a run scored. He was 2-for-4 with a run in the win over the Eagles and returned on Saturday to go 5-for-8 with three RBIs in a split with Wayne State (NE) and Southern Indiana.
Pena is hitting .350 on the season for the Rangers with four RBIs, four runs scored and a pair of doubles.
UW-Parkside (4-8) has won four of its last five games and is within two wins of last year’s win total. The Rangers will travel to Missouri S&T and Drury this weekend to open GLVC play
