Kentucky Wesleyan College sophomore Luke Garmon (Bowling Green, Ky./Warren Central) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
Garmon, a sophomore second baseman for the Panthers, helped his club pick up a pair of wins on the weekend, including a victory at Southern Indiana on Sunday. He hit .556 on the week and posted 13 RBIs in four games. Garmon also added four runs and a double, finishing with a .611 slugging percentage.
Kentucky Wesleyan split a doubleheader with Oakland City on Wednesday and Garmon went 4-for-8 with seven RBIs and two runs scored. In the Panthers’ 23-11 win in the nightcap, Garmon was 3-for-5 with six RBIs and a run scored.
He returned on Sunday to help the Panthers earn the split with USI. In the two games, Garmon was 6-for-10 with six RBIs and two runs scored. The Panthers grabbed game one 14-7 with Garmon going 3-for-6 with four RBIs and a run scored.
On the year, Garmon is batting .471 with 17 RBIs, 11 runs and three doubles.
Kentucky Wesleyan (7-9) is 1-1 in the GLVC East Division and will play Missouri-St. Louis, Asbury and Indianapolis this week.
