University of Indianapolis freshman pitcher Jennifer DeMotte (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
DeMotte posted three wins for the Greyhounds in league play last week. She was 3-0 with a 1.29 earned run average and 18 strikeouts in 21 innings of work.
She opened the week by registering a 3-2 win at Rockhurst. DeMotte scattered eight hits and allowed just two earned runs, while striking out five.
In UIndy’s 7-1 win over Maryville, DeMotte surrendered just three hits, struck out seven and allowed one earned run.
She capped the week with a 3-2 win over Missouri S&T. DeMotte did not allow an earned run, struck out six and gave up five hits.
In the three complete games, DeMotte held opponents to a .211 batting average and gave up just one walk.
She is now 7-3 on the season with a 1.47 ERA. She has three shutouts on the year, ten complete games and 48 strikeouts in 62 innings pitched.
UIndy (17-8) is now 9-1 in the GLVC and will visit Missouri-St. Louis and Southern Indiana this weekend.
Other top performers in GLVC last week included Lewis’ Diana Pickrum, Maryville’s Caitlin McClintock, Northern Kentucky’s Emily Schwaeble, Quincy’s Torie Bunzell, and Southern Indiana’s Hadley Clark.
