Missouri S&T senior pitcher Ashley Wallingford (Kahoka, Mo./Clark County) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Wallingford went 2-0 last week, earning her first shutout of the season over UW-Parkside on Saturday.
She opened the week by posting a 4-2 win over Lincoln on Wednesday. Wallingford allowed four hits and struck out five in eight innings of play.
In the sweep over UW-Parkside, she picked up her fourth straight win, improving to 8-4 on the season. Wallingford did not allow an earned run, scattered six hits while striking out five.
In the two complete games, she held the opponents to a .189 batting average and posted a 0.47 earned run aveage, giving up just three walks.
S&T (16-8) is now 9-5 in the GLVC and will travel to Arkadelphia, Ark. to play Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist this week before heading to St. Louis to play Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday.
Other top performers in GLVC last week included Quincy's Tori Bunzell, Northern Kentucky’s Emily Schwaeble and Maryville’s Caitlin McClintock.
