INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.Kentucky Wesleyan College’s Laura McClintic (Tell City, Ind./Tell City) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The junior forward helped pace the Panthers in wins at the University of Indianapolis and Saint Joseph’s College last week.
 
McClintic netted 18 points in the Panthers’ 66-60 win at UIndy on Dec. 7. She was 6-of-13 (.462) from the field, pulled down six rebounds and had five steals and an assist in the victory.
 
In Kentucky Wesleyan’s 78-68 win at Saint Joseph’s on Dec. 9, McClintic recorded just the third triple-double in school history. She went for 19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in the game and helped the Panthers collect their seventh win through the first eight games of the season. She was 7-of-12 (.583) from the field and added a blocked shot and two steals to her output.
 
For the week, McClintic averaged 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game. She shot 52 percent from the field and was 7-of-8 (.875) from the free throw line.
 
Kentucky Wesleyan improved to 7-1 overall this season with the wins and is 2-1 in the GLVC. McClintic is averaging 10.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game on the year.
 
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Taylor Kopple, Drury’s Becky Flippin, Lewis’ Darcee Schmidt, Missouri-Rolla’s Tamara McCaskill, Northern Kentucky’s Karyn Creager, Quincy’s Alex Wieser, Rockhurst’s Julie Cook, Saint Joseph’s Allison Hughes and Southern Indiana’s Jasmine Baines.
