Bellarmine University sophomore Rebecca Porter (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week.

Porter paced the Knights as they secured a berth to the upcoming GLVC Women’s Tennis Tournament last week. She posted a 2-0 mark at No. 1 singles and 1-1 record at No. 1 doubles against Lewis and Indianapolis.
 
In Bellarmine’s 6-3 win over Lewis on Friday, Porter defeated the Flyers’ Jana Schulz, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6. At No. 1 doubles, Porter and teammate Emily Roebker defeated Schulz and Bayley Brown, 8-3.
 
Against UIndy, Porter again won at No. 1 singles as she defeated Lee Matthews, 7-5, 6-1. She and Roebker fell to Maggie Ashby and Alena Perez-Majul in a 9-8 decision at No. 1 doubles,
 
On the season, Porter is 17-3 overall, including a 13-2 mark at No. 1 singles. She has posted a 6-0 record in singles play in league action. In doubles play, Porter is 12-5 overall and 4-2 in the GLVC.
 
Bellarmine (12-5) finished the GLVC season 3-3 and earned the No. 4 seed in the East Division for the GLVC Tournament. The Knights will face Drury in the quarterfinal round on Friday.
 
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Rockhurst’s Erin Bales.
