Lewis University’s Scott Barnas (Oak Lawn, Ill./St. Laurence/Moraine Valley) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Barnas has won his fourth straight Field Athlete of the Week Award. Friday evening he took fourth-place in the shot put at the Mt. SAC Relays, with a throw of 16.96 meters. Returning on Saturday at the Beach Invitational, he took first place in the shot put with an automatic qualifying throw of 17.65 meters. He is currently ranked third in the national rankings and first in the GLVC.
Lewis returns to action next weekend competing in the Hillsdale “Gina” Relays.
Other top performers in the GLVC this week included Saint Joseph’s Joe Tooks.
