University of Southern Indiana’s Michael Jordan (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Jordan, a freshman for the Screaming Eagles, earned a seventh-place finish in just his second attempt at the 3000-meter steeplechase event at the Hillsdale “Gina” Invitational. His time of 9:12.96 ranks him first in the GLVC and 16th on the NCAA national performance list.
USI returns to action May 7-8 at the GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Championship, hosted by Missouri S&T.
Other top performers in the GLVC this week included Indianapolis’ Jermel Kindred, UW-Parkside’s Alex Mena and Saint Joseph’s Tyler Sult.
