Missouri S&T senior pitcher Caleb Lambert (Romulus, Mich./Henry Ford College) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Lambert helped S&T remain in the hunt for a GLVC tournament berth last week by posting a pair of wins. He defeated Quincy on Monday and returned to grab a win over Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday.
In S&T’s 11-0 win over Quincy, Lambert recorded the shutout by scattering eight hits over nine innings. He struck out three in the outing to secure the complete-game victory.
Lambert tossed seven innings in the Miners’ 4-3 win over UMSL on Saturday before having to exit due to being hit by a line drive to his leg. He allowed two earned runs and six hits, while striking out five.
On the season, Lambert is 5-4 with a 5.98 earned run average. S&T (19-33) finished 14-18 in league play.
Other top performers in GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Aaron Deatherage, Indianapolis’ Donovan Drake, Lewis’ Joe Scumaci, Saint Joseph’s Steve Styck and Southern Indiana’s Dan Marcacci.
