Lewis University senior outside hitter Lauren Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx) is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. Seliga was named the Most Valuable Player at the Lynn University Courtyard by Marriott Invitational over the weekend.

In five matches, Seliga averaged 3.11 points per set which included 2.44 kills and 0.61 service aces per set. She also posted an impressive 4.28 digs per set to guide the Flyers to a 5-0 mark at the event.
On Thursday, Seliga posted a double-double with 14 kills and 20 digs in Lewis’ four-set win over UC-Colorado Springs. She hit at a .333 clip in the victory and also added three service aces and two assists. In all, she accounted for 17 points in the match.
Seliga returned on Friday to pace the Flyers in wins over Rollins and host Lynn. Lewis defeated Rollins in four sets with Seliga tallying five kills, 19 digs and two service aces. She posted nine kills, 18 digs, three service aces and four assists in the Flyers’ five-set comeback win over Lynn.
Lewis swept Valdosta State and California (Pa.) on Saturday with Seliga posting seven kills and seven digs in just two sets against Valdosta and nine kills, 11 digs, six assists and three service aces against California (Pa.).
Lewis (5-0), ranked 15th in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll, will travel to the Colorado Premier Challenge in Denver, Colo. this weekend.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Bailey BredenbeckCorp, Drury’s Kyrie Hopkins, Missouri-St. Louis’ Erin Higgins, Rockhurst’s Maggie McGovern, Southern Indiana’s Brittani Oliver, UIndy’s Cheneta Morrison and UW-Parkside’s Addie Kramer.
