University of Wisconsin-Parkside Hope Christie (Somers, WI.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Christie, a senior helped lead the Rangers to a 2nd place finish at the Midwest Open this past Saturday.
Christie placed fourth overall in the 5K and finished the course with a time of 18:22. She finished ahead of the other four Rangers who competed in the event and all finished in the top 20.
Her efforts helped the Rangers post a team score of 51, finishing a safe distance ahead of third place Loyola and behind UW-Oshkosh who won the 5K team title.
Wisconsin-Parkside will return to action Sept. 25 at the Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Meghan Shagena, Northern Kentucky’s Jerrica Maddox, Quincy’s Meaghan Brennan and UIndy’s Stephanie Cave.
