Lewis University senior outside hitter Lauren Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx) is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. Seliga guided the 10th-ranked Flyers to victories over Saint Joseph’s and 9th-ranked UIndy over the weekend.
In the two GLVC matches, Seliga averaged 4.50 kills, 6.00 digs and 5.33 points per set. She tallied 27 kills in six sets and also added three service aces, four blocks and two assists.
In Friday’s sweep of Saint Joseph’s, Seliga tallied seven kills, 15 digs, a service ace and block in just two sets.
She returned on Saturday to lead the Flyers past UIndy in four sets with 20 kills, 21 digs, three blocks, two service aces and two assists. After the Flyers fell in the first set, Seliga guided the comeback with a block assist for the second set point and kills on the final two points in the third set.
On the year, Seliga is averaging 2.83 kills and 3.47 points per set. She ranks second in the GLVC in service aces per set (0.51) and sixth in digs per set (4.20).
Lewis (9-1, 2-0 GLVC) will visit St. Francis on Tuesday before hosting Quincy and Illinois-Springfield this weekend.
