University of Wisconsin Parkside’s Hope Christie (Somers, WI.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Christie, a senior, helped lead the Running Rangers to a 17th-place finish at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational this past Saturday.
Christie finished tenth among collegiate runners and eleventh overall. She finished the 5k course with a time of 18:11 in a field of over 500 runners. Christie’s time was a personal best, just missing her third straight top-ten finish this season.
Christie helped the Rangers finish with a team score of 474, a good distance ahead of 18th place UW-Milwaukee which posted a team score of 513. Northwestern won the event.
UW-Parkside will return to action on Oct. 16 hosting the Parkside Invite.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included UIndy’s Stephanie Cave, Lewis’s Ciersten Deardorf and Southern Indiana’s Kaylee McClanahan.
