University of Wisconsin-Parkside’s Hope Christie (Somers, WI.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Christie, a senior, helped lead the Rangers to a fourth-place finish out of 10 teams at the Lucian Rosa Invitational held at UW-Parkside this past Saturday.

Christie finished the 5k course with a time of 18:17.  She finished the course in second place overall out of 100 runners. Christie helped the Rangers finish with a team score of 93.  UW-Parkside finished ahead of fifth-place Creighton, 146, and behind third-place Michigan Tech, 72.  Bellarmine won the team championship with a score of 41.   

UW-Parkside will return to action Oct. 22 at the UW-Oshkosh Invite.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Angela Musk, Drury’s Rebecca Senn, UIndy’s Stephanie Cave, Northern Kentucky’s Kayla Justice, Quincy’s Jaclyn Barnhouse and Southern Indiana’s Adrienne Curtis.
