Bellarmine University senior forward Bradley Barraclough (Lincoln, England) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week. Barraclough compiled six points in a pair of league road wins for the Knights.
In Bellarmine’s 3-2 win at Southern Indiana on Friday, Barraclough posted two goals, including the game-winner in overtime. He scored his first goal in the 12th minute on an assist from Ross Hopkins to tie the score at 1-1.
Barraclough notched the game-winning goal against the Eagles in the sixth minute of the first overtime period on an assist from Matt Weston.
In the Knights’ 3-0 victory at Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday, Barraclough added a second-half insurance goal on an assist from Francisco Cano. The goal helped the Knights’ lock up a berth to the 2010 GLVC Men’s Soccer Tournament.
Barraclough leads the GLVC in goals (16) and is tied for the league-lead in game-winning goals with four this season. He also ranks second in the GLVC in points (38) and shots (73) and is third in the league in assists with six.
Bellarmine (10-4-2) finished tied for fifth in the GLVC standings and will be the No. 6 seed for the upcoming GLVC Tournament. The Knights will visit Missouri S&T in the tournament quarterfinals on Sunday at Noon CT.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Danny Collins, Missouri S&T’s Spencer Brinkmeyer, Northern Kentucky’s Steven Beattie, Quincy’s D.J. Lampert, Rockhurst’s Mark Magee and UIndy’s Max Marsh.
