Bellarmine University senior outside hitter Emily Beckman (Louisville, Ky./Male) is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. Beckman led the Knights to three wins in GLVC play last week, including a victory over No. 19 UIndy on Saturday afternoon.
For the week, Beckman averaged 4.43 points, 3.64 kills, 0.79 blocks and 2.71 digs per set. Beckman also finished with three service aces and three assists in the 14 sets played.
On Tuesday, Beckman posted 14 kills, six blocks and six digs as Bellarmine topped visiting Northern Kentucky in four sets. She finished the match with 19.5 points which included one service ace.
Beckman returned on Friday in Bellarmine’s five set victory over Saint Joseph’s to notch a double-double with 18 kills and 19 digs. She added four blocks, a service ace and an assist in the win.
In the Knights’ upset of UIndy on Saturday, Beckman tallied her 11th double-double of the season by posting 19 kills and 13 digs. She also had two assists, one service ace and one block assist and finished the match with 20.5 points.
Beckman is averaging 3.31 kills, 2.65 digs, 0.26 blocks and 0.23 service aces per set this season for the Knights. She ranks eighth in the league in kills per set and tenth in points per set (3.51).
Bellarmine (14-8) moved into a five-way tie for fifth place in the GLVC with the victories and will next visit Illinois-Springfield and Quincy this weekend.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Austin Warren, Lewis’ Rachel Ruedi, Rockhurst’s Emily Levy, UIndy’s Kristina Kerrigan and Southern Indiana’s Danielle LaGrange.
