INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.Lewis University’s Mary Moskal (Cherry Valley, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior guard was nearly perfect in shooting the Flyers past host UW-Parkside on Jan. 13.
 
In the Flyers’ 69-57 win over UW-Parkside, Moskal recorded a double-double with 31 points and 10 rebounds. She was 8-of-10 (.800) from the field and converted 14-of-15 (.933) free throw attempts. Moskal canned her only three-point field goal attempt and chipped in five assists on the afternoon.
 
On the year, Moskal is averaging 17.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. She is shooting 50.3 percent from the field and adding 3.9 assists per game.
 
Lewis has won seven straight games and is 13-2 overall. The Flyers lead the GLVC East Division with a 6-1 mark.
 
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Ashley Lewallen, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Laura McClintic, Quincy’s Jessica Keller and Rockhurst’s Julie Cook.
