Northern Kentucky University junior guard Casse Mogan (Circleville, Ohio/Circleville) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Mogan paced the Norse to a pair of league victories, including a win over No. 11 Indianapolis on Saturday.
In Thursday’s 71-38 win over visiting Southern Indiana, Mogan scored a game-high 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting. She was 8-of-9 from the three throw line and added eight rebounds, three steals, two assists and a blocked shot in the win.
Mogan posted a double-double in leading the Norse to a 57-45 win over Indianapolis. She finished with a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds. Mogan was 11-of-18 from the field and chipped in five steals, three assists and two blocked shots.
On the week, she averaged 22.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game. Mogan shot 56.7 percent from the field, 40 percent from behind the three-point line and she converted 80 percent of her free throw attempts.
Mogan is averaging 17.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.8 steals per game for the Norse this season. She ranks fourth in the league in scoring, second in steals per game, ninth in three-point field goal percentage (44.4%) and tenth in blocked shots per game (0.75).
NKU (6-2) sits alone atop the GLVC East Division standings with a 2-0 record. The Norse, winners of five straight, will host Tiffin on Wednesday and St. Francis (IN) on Saturday.
